The
Lectura Publishing House was founded in 1984 by three
experts on construction machinery.
After
one year of intensive investigation, the first overview of
construction machinery for the German market was released
in 1985 under the name of “biq” (Baumaschinen-Informationsquelle,
Source of information of construction machinery).
Licensing
agreements with eurotax (Schwacke list) enabled further publishing
under the name “Schwacke Marktbericht Baumaschinen”
(Schwacke market report construction machinery).
The market observations have been extended rapidly in following years
covering:
- Forklifts
- Cranes
- Loader cranes/Swap body systems
- Aerial work platforms
- Construction equipment
- Public utlilty technology and agricultural machinery
- Public utlilty technology and recycling
In
1998 the investigations already covered the whole
European market. Since then prices have been listed in
Euro.
In
addition we made our data available on other media.
Products were released on CD-ROM and our clients were enabled to valuate
machines online via internet.
Since
2000 we have sales partners all over Europe and our products
are available in 5 languages.
From 2004 on, our market reports had been published under the name "€uropa Guide" and since 2008 they have been named "Lectura Guide".
